Your spouse is a gift from God to you. Genesis Chapter 2 illustrates God’s original design for marriage. He created two humans and put them together: Adam, God’s gift to Eve and Eve, God’s gift to Adam. Nothing’s changed—your spouse is God’s gift to you.
God designed the gift he gave you and created a plan for their life. Guess what? His plan for your spouse doesn’t revolve around you, but him. He regards you as a promoter of his plan for the person you call spouse.
God designed a specialized plan for your marital partner. Frequently ask the Lord to make you everything his plan for your spouse requires of you. This request concentrates on God’s needs, not yours. As a result, you will pay attention to what you can do for your spouse instead of demanding they do things for you. You will serve as an instrument in God’s hand for completing his purposes for the person he gave you in marriage!
Regarding yourself in the way God sees you enables you to do his will. Think about becoming everything God needs, and you will be filled with his love for your spouse.
