Love for humans motivated Jesus’ every action, all his behavior and each word. This love for humanity compelled Jesus to wear our crown of thorns so we can wear his crown of blessing. He accepted what He did not deserve so we can experience what we cannot earn.
Wearing Jesus’ Crown of Blessing
Believe what you hear. Letting a crown sit on your head seems simple. But remember that this crown of blessing is invisible. We know it exists because Proverbs 10:6 declares, “blessings crown the head of the righteous.” Let the Word of God convince you that you are blessed even when you feel unblessed. Jesus became sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God. Believe you are who he says you are. You are righteous so his crown of blessing ornaments your head. Believe what you hear God say about you.
Resist attempts to steal your crown of blessing. Jesus believed the prophecies about the immeasurable emotional and physical pain he faced at the end of his life. He recoiled from the predicted torture. Fear and dread attempted to steal his crown of blessing. Therefore, he went to a place outside the Jerusalem walls named Gethsemane. In Gethsemane he spent three fellowship sessions with the Spirit of God and the Lord’s Spirit strengthened him. Invigorated by fresh, divine energy, Jesus held tightly to his belief in God’s blessing upon his life.
It works the same for you and me. Fear and dread, Satan and sinners, pain and fatigue attempt to convince us that we’ve lost our crown of blessing. But they are liars! The crown of blessing rests eternally upon the head of the resurrected Jesus; it cannot be stolen. Jesus’ crown of blessing is your crown of blessing. Resist temptations to let life’s difficulties and disappointments snatch your belief in your crown of blessing. Because of Jesus, your crown of blessing is secure.
