We humans are so prone to talking ourselves out of trying new things, difficult assignments or the apparently impossible. For example, God miraculously freed the Israeli slaves from Egyptian bondage and brought them out from Egypt through a miraculous crossing of the Red Sea. Nevertheless, when the Jewish people faced seemingly insurmountable foes they declared, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” (Number 13:31) In spite of the years of God’s miraculous provision for the every need, these people refused to talk themselves into trying to conquer the land God promised Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Well, we will not follow their example! Choose to believe the Lord for whatever you need or whatever you want to accomplish. Say “no” to discouragement or fear of trying. God always comes through for people willing to live by faith in Him.
Refuse to fear your fears! Remember, God doesn’t reject fearful people. He helps them overcome their fears! Quote Psalm 18:29 over and over again: “With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.” The impossible isn’t impossible for God or for his people who trust in him!
