Among all the Israeli army, David was the least likely to succeed in defeating Goliath. No one believed in him. Israel’s king told David, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine…; you are only a boy.”
But God believed in David, and David knew it.
It is not enough for you to believe in God. You must also believe in yourself. Why believe in ourselves? Because God does. In fact, God voted every one of us “Most Likely to Succeed.”
True faith in God creates true faith in ourselves. If we have no faith in ourselves, it is because we have no faith in God.
The Bible plainly shows that our Heavenly Father uses humans who appear unlikely to succeed. Father values human “unlikeliness.” So he chooses to both bless and use humans that other humans disregard.
Quit fearing your “unlikeliness.” In God we are all “most likely to succeed.”
Go ahead — attempt the impossible. You say you believe in God; believe also in yourself. Will not he support you? Will not he help you? “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and you will succeed.”
Faith in God causes us to take risks. Chapter eleven of Hebrews gives us a long list of ordinary people who believed that God believed in them. They took a chance and attempted the impossible, and God made them successful.
On the cross, Jesus neither looked nor felt victorious. Neither friend nor foe considered him victorious. In spite of the absence of apparent victory, Jesus knew he would participate in Father’s inevitable and in-suppressible victory.
God commits his infinite and inexhaustible resources to your success.
